ATSuccess Final Week - April 2014
May 11, 2014Quiet (for me) this month as I took a self-imposed holiday from producing content. Back in Tokyo now, about to start the annual residential of all our students, teachers and friends. Busy times ahead. ATSuccess is now gearing up for an extended period of focused attention on how to grow your AT biz. If you are thinking of joining, now's a great time for that… Click here now to find out more. *** My Personal Facebook Group [NOTE: Today's blog contains posts from my ATSuccess Group in Facebook. *The Big Niche Decision OK Elyse - your mind is in exactly the right place. Until you make your clear niche decision, you splutter rather than flow. Peter expressed it clearly in an earlier post about his growing success within the singers niche. What will help your decision is information: of your choices, which niche has more people willing and able to spend money on sessions with you? In the absence of a passionate leaning to one side or the other, base your decision on what will generate more financial health. There's a post on defining niches that could help with your decision (not in my book!) so here's the link: http://atsuccess.com/2012/12/step-2-before-you-decide-niche-12-niche-qualifiers.html Introductions To The Work BodyChance Intros are BodyChance classes with a sales twist happening throughout - so the language I use, the methods I employ and the strategies I have been honed and practiced to help people overcome their inner advocate that conserves resources of time and money, despite being blown away by what they experience. 20% is our average conversion over a year. Sometimes to rises to 50%, other times it drops to 5%, but 20% seems to be our consistent, over-time conversion rate of beginners into BodyChance Basic membership system (at $148 or $198 monthly). Nishioka, head of Intel in Japan for many years and a fan of BodyChance, believes we should be getting 50% all the time. Hmmm. Keep working at it… Becoming the Expert Oh there's such joy for me in reading your comments Peter, and gratitude to all my teachers who led the way for me to lead the way for you. We all stand on the shoulders of those who came before us, and the newer of us will go much, much further. You are just starting in your niche at such an early stage - you're going to have an amazing career, I know it. Start thinking about your book. Start researching magazines who could profile you. Take a note of Brendan Burchard's http://expertsacademy.com and start planning your career track this way. Delighted you have taken on Pro level membership, and look forward to Skyping about your magic career on the 23rd! Negotiating Your Future Yes Cecile, and go with the flow sounds right too. You are starting out - getting a track record, establishing your brand, building your reputation: none of this is possible without a credible venue, and an audience to match. But counter offer the Studio owner - ask something of her. Access to her list? An intro workshop for her people? I am not sure of the situation, but accept her harsher terms by adding a new one of your own. Do I Start With Levels Or Not? You are just starting out - so offering lots of levels diversifies your practise in a way that is not sustainable. Is that true? I am guessing, but you have the stats to know if that is true or not. It is also possible - as a step along the way of evolving your model - to offer a class to all comers. The beginners get beguiled by the sophistication of the work you do with Instructors, while the Instructors get inspired by the simple, no nonsense advice you dispense to the beginners. It can work for both groups, and everyone in-between. You could package your self this way to start - all in one, one in all - and focus on splintering into skill-level groups when you have the numbers to make that viable. It's maybe not what you want to hear, but one flyer, one program, one class to sell to EVERYONE is much easier to manage. I Don't Teach The Alexander Technique First off Jennifer - your teacher is right. I totally agree. You are not teaching Alexander Technique. And thank goodness for that! You are, however, exploring the principal discoveries of F.M. in creative, leading edge ways that are bound to cause confusion in people who are unable to distinguish his discoveries from the methods used to convey them to others. I advocate calling your work by different names as a positive message to highlight the innovations and changing focus of what you offer. On Aniko Leaving ATSuccess Oh dear. Just catching up with this at 4am in the morning. I am on a semi-holiday from here (as you all know) so I am not checking in every day. However, I responded immediately to your message Aniko by deleting the passage in question - I do regret not informing you I did that, or expressing my regret that you feel compromised by that posting. It was my way of celebrating you - but I now understand that this is not how you received it. However, leaving the group will hurt you more than it will anyone else - is this really your only option? I hear you feel I have betrayed your confidence, and I understand how serious this is for you. I also hear that the "repercussions" are imagined, not real - at least when you posted your comment above. Are these imagined repercussions so serious that you would leave the one place that has inspired you to do things you might otherwise have not? Maybe this is not about ATSuccess, or even Jeremy, but about the deeper need you have for trust, and I have lost your trust. So I ask you: your journey is only starting - is this decision in your own best interests? Forget about me, think about you. Isn't there something you could request of me that would restore your ability to share freely on the group? I can of course promise to never - EVER - publish any of your comments anywhere. That's not hard to promise - or deliver on - now I understand the seriousness with which you view the confidentiality issue. Maybe a few others want to jump on that gravy train too? It could be that this incident supports evolving ATSuccess by generating clearer guidelines for those concerned about privacy. Privacy is not my strong point I admit. I am a very public person, and you have experienced one of my weaknesses. You get me with the good and the bad: it's called life. I can work with you, if you will work with me. Your leaving the group - forever - seems so final and not what I expect from a person like you. Negotiating our upsets, figuring out ways to move forward, discovering ways to restore trust - this is the true work we are all in. Exploring that first feels like the Aniko I have come to love and respect. However, I also respect your decision to leave, and then I join in with the others to say how grateful I have been for your presence and wisdom. You have been truly extraordinary in your actions and contributions to the group, and I wish you every success and joy in your continuing career. *** Glad to be back with you again - I am going to give up breakfast at the residential to make the time to stay in touch with you all. Incredibly busy life starting up again after an Easter holiday with the kids. Anything you want to bring urgently to my attention? https://www.facebook.com/groups/ATCSProMembers/
