Day Four – Clarity

Sep 08, 2013

Day Four – Clarity Amirel is an Israeli property investor living in Mullumbimby, and we often chew the fat about business, life and our families. Like me, he married a Japanese woman and has two children at our local Steiner school. One day he excitedly told me about a piece of paper he'd found hidden amongst his belongings. It was a document he wrote years ago detailing the concrete details of what he intended to achieve with his property investment over the next 10 years. What got him most excited was:

  1. He had totally forgotten that he created this document; and
  2. It was scarily, eerily, flabbergastingly close to what had happened.

Actually, that didn't surprise me as I had recently experienced something similar. When separating from my Japanese wife became final in my mind, I decided one day to visualize a new partner. I described her in great detail: her inclinations, her nationality, her situation, her age, her height, her looks, her personality. It was a way to spend an hour. Zoom forward 6 months and I was in my room when a heard a woman talk, then laugh. "Who is that?" I immediately followed my instinct by walking to the front desk of our studio where I'd heard the voice originate… I turned the corner and "Voila" She was there! I had a physical reaction in every particle of me. I decided: "I'll marry you now." Like one of those moments you hear about in movies, but never believe will actually happen to you. Anyway, over the next few weeks as we spent time together,  I discovered that I had forgotten to list one crucial feature of my dream woman – that she was available! Yu was not, so my dream ended, as dreams often do. However, that experience accustomed me to Amirel's amazement as the results of his conscious intention in making a property investment plan jumped back to him 10 years later. Now it's time in our 30 Day Challenge to practise creating this clarity… To-day's Mission - How To Visualize Your Niche…

One of my mentors used to say: answers are not useful, questions are: supplying answers doesn't solve problems nearly as well as finding the right question will. For many of you in our group, by reading your posts, I realise that one of those infuriating, frustrating and continuous questions is: what is my niche? Get excited by the question, and keep asking it every day. The lucky few know, they are digging deeper, but still in the same process. However, many of us feel we are still flapping about on the shore without air, wondering when the grace of God will offer us salvation? Well, maybe it is not that bad, but I love a turn of phrase which I am sure many of you know by now. Alexander's learning process begins with gathering information. One place to start is with your own inclinations – your current passions, interests and friends. For those willing to go deeper in this process, there are several worksheets I've created to support this exploration. You can find them here: http://atsuccess.com/worksheets-directory Tomorrow, I will offer you another exercise that can assist in giving you more ideas. But remember – do what you need to do. What I am writing here are suggestions designed to stimulate your thinking. Please don't brutalize your Self by believing you should do everything I suggest! Remember, you have 60 days, not 30, as I gave you all an extra month. My 30 Day Challenge is to do one thing each day that will build your practise. You get to choose what that is, because no-one knows your situation better than you. Reading those worksheets is just one of your options. Or simply writing down replies to the question: what is my niche? The clarity is in asking the right questions.
