Day One – Mission

Sep 04, 2013

Welcome to my 30 Day Challenge! Almost magically, we also have 30 teachers and students in a community that will every day be exploring how to set Alexander Technique careers on fire! You know – get more students. If you didn't join, you still join can but the offer of an extra month and a free E-Copy of my book will finish very soon. (Actually, if you are in Tokyo, it already did!) Jump right to this link now to qualify. If you don't know what this is about, I suggest you read this blog to catch up. During this month – if you are not in the 30 Day Challenge – you will notice that some of my blog is unavailable. That is because it is part of the coaching program, and dovetails with the new FaceBook group, so it is only for Basic or Pro members. Let's start with this: have you got a website? If you answer is no, this month you're gonna get one. Perhaps your mind says: "That's too hard" but your mind needs an update: it is not hard. Perhaps your mind says: "It costs too much" but your mind needs an update: it is not expensive. Before I write too much more on that, confess up on our FaceBook page and I will pass on information to whoever needs it. 20 minutes, $0 and it can be done. OK, that's today's first order of housekeeping. Now let's get to the real nitty, gritty… Your Life Mission Statement

Write your life mission statement. It can be whatever ever it is today. You will manifest it when you ask. One of my first biz mentors encouraged us to ask "open questions"… This guy was making a fortune in Real Estate in Australia, running a team of people who were not Realtors. Brendon would go to "transformation" seminars, look around the room, and find people who had the qualities he wanted for his company. The he'd say: "Would you like a job where you can challenge yourself, realise your dreams and make money?" I mean – what's a person going to answer to that? But somewhere along the line, Brendan began to feel that this wasn't want he wanted to do with his life. So to the shock and horror of everyone around him, he announced he was leaving this business to go spend time living in a tent in Colorado with his wife (no kidding) to figure out what he wanted to do. What he did every day was ask his unconscious a simple question: "What do I want to do with my life?" He kept asking that question, for six months, until one day the answer roared into his life with a clarity and power that jolted him into an entirely new direction. But that's his story – what will yours be? I suggest you find your question and ask it every day till the answer comes roaring into your mind. (Although sometimes, as in my case, it seeps in). When I first asked my Self that question through Brendan's workshop, I got this answer: To still my mind in readiness for my next life (I was strongly into being a Buddhist then). Actually, that is still my primary objective, but I understand today that by itself, that one doesn't play out. I need a how, as much as what. An effective life mission statement helps you make sense of all the possibilities that come up. You can ask: how would doing that further my life mission? So now I have: To change the my Self (the what from above, the Selfish part) by steering BodyChance into a becoming a positive social force (the how) that will serve humanity for hundreds of years after I am gone. In my case, part of BodyChance's durability will arise from it's core service, it's team, it's assets, multiple revenue sources, healthy cash flow, it's ability to function congruent to it's purpose and it's governing system. So whenever I get a new wild idea, I can assess if it fits or it doesn't. So spend 5 minutes or 50 minutes and write out a simple one sentence life mission statement and share it with us on Facebook. As we carry on this month and next, you can refer back to it as a guide to help determine your actions… And make a habit to regularly ask this question to your unconscious. Answers can flow and change, but make your question consistent.
