Develop Your Craft In Ways That Attract People

It's not just a marketing thing - it is a service thing, it's how you teach, how you implement in your lessons. The two can be seamless. And yet, in many teachers' minds, they are not. One feels clean, the other almost dirty. I love teaching, I hate selling. This is only your mind - the truth is that both involve communication. Communication in the teaching room, and communication in the market place are mirrors of each other. Understand this, and you are unlocking your already honed skills into an area you did not know you have the ability to apply them to. (Wow - that was an awkward sentence!) Of course, the confusing part is knowing how to speak about the work when you do not know who is listening. We all know from casual encounters in social situations, that crafting the words to help a neophyte understand what we do is a herculean task. Something to be avoided! In my course this coming month, you will come to embrace it. You will see it as part of your market research. You will understand that this moment is so valuable to you as a research tool. a moment you can use to further craft your service in ways that really impact people; that really invite them to change their lives. This is what your marketing and selling needs to be about. Inviting people to change their lives, but to change it in ways that make sense to them. Development of your teaching is development of this communication skill. This month is about the deep practise of teaching, and integrating it with your marketing and sales. It's about undoing the mind that sees these two as separate. It's about banishing the mind that says "Oh I am a good teacher, but I am not very good at selling." It's a tall order, and a life's work. I don't want to pretend you will get instant solutions and ready-made fixes, we all know that is not how it works.
