Was I having a triple bi-pass in Nazareth?

One night, I woke up from a long slumber to see the light.

I was a father with two young daughters, no university degree and a stay-at-home mum. My only working experience was as an Alexscovery Teacher and actor. Concerning earning power - those two professions are a toss-up.

Going back to acting - in a country whose language I could not speak - was not an option.

Which left me as an Alexscovery Teacher running a school in Tokyo, that now had only 8 trainees, and had been shrinking every term for more than a year.

I pulled up my metaphoric socks, got a biz education, and today I have 127 trainees, a team of 7 full-time teachers, and, and....

Still a struggle.

The struggle is different, and it continues.

However - as one of my ATSuccess members wrote to me yesterday -

"It is easier to be successful than unsuccessful!"

It's also easier to plan when you have cash flow. It's fulfilling to know you are changing people's lives in a way that they want, and getting decently paid to do it.

HOWEVER.

There is still the SAME PROBLEM.

How to expand the work?

How to reach more people?

How to fund your educational outreach?

My first answer was to niche.

Find a hungry crowd with something in common they loved doing, turn them into an Alexander-inspired community. Soon they will be amplifying your message and saving you a ton of effort. The niche strategy worked for BodyChance, and for many members of ATSuccess.

However, there was another group of teachers who struggled with my niche solution.

AND I WAS ONE OF THEM!

I didn't have a niche. Yes, I was an actor, and I could go that route. But actors are as inversely good as they are bad at paying. No money. Hard to feed my two babies.

All I knew was that I loved Alexander's discovery - and I discovered heaps of teachers who felt the same. Hawking "Alexander Technique" and praying someone will notice.

To them - I had no answer. Until now.

Until this year. This very month.

Remember niches, but forget looking for a consumer audience.

Instead, seek niches in corporations. How do you even define that?

From there, you must start thinking about how to alter your teaching style to get in, stay in and flourish.
