Vito Corleone assures Frank that he will be OK.

"I'm Gonna Make Him An Offer He Can't Refuse."

This famous line from Coppola's first Godfather movie is the dark shadow of a business fact. Corleone backed his offer with dire consequences - he was as polite as he was dangerous.

His bite was way worse than his bark.

Any effective offer will have "consequences" built into it. A person needs to be convinced that they cannot refuse your offer.

For BodyChance Music - until we changed the offer - we averaged only 20~30% conversion. It means out of 10 people, only 2 or 3 took up our offer. Today that figure sits between 60~70%. What changed?

The offer. The offer is your product.

People can love your service, and still hate your product.

You service is Alexander's discovery - the extraordinary ability to improve just about anything a person is capable of doing.

However, your service is NOT your product: a distinction lost by many teachers.

How many times have you have had a person give great feedback about your lesson, then disappear forever?

Mysterious, and frustrating right?

Well, it's your offer.

The product you're offering doesn't fit their need. A product is how you deliver your service, and it is shaped by these factors:

  • Where they study (obscure location, in the CBD)
  • What form they study in (groups, individual lessons)
  • Who is teaching them (you, different teachers)
  • How long it takes (one workshop, one year)
  • When it occurs (evenings, weekends, flexible)
  • How much it costs (compared to what?)
