Alexander’s Pilates Benefits by ChatGPT
Jan 24, 2023I’m a nerd.
I love catching out my Genzener daughters with online savvy:
“Hey Grace, have you tried ChatGPT?”
“What’s that?”
“Oh please, it’s been around a month now!”
“Shut up dad.”

I subscribe to WIRED, so I was one of the first people in the world to read the review of its launch barely 49 days ago. ChatGPT is a new AI public domain tool available online, currently for free. Think of it more as a search box. For anything.
You thought Social Media disrupted things?
This thing is smarter than you.
Already it’s helped me solve a problem with my gas floor heating in Tokyo and taught me what is wrong with my sister’s dog Mason - including all the treatment options.
What’s about to happen in the world - in the next two years - is a technology able to challenge the breath and depth of University Professors. Students are already getting it to write their essays, and some are getting caught.
Why? Their marks are suddenly much higher.
Imagine a Nobel prize-winning scientist in your living room whenever you need them. And you can ask them anything. Ask them to explain, clarify and demonstrate any idea, principle or concept you are having difficulty comprehending.
OK. So can ChatGPT help you as a teacher of Alexander’s Discovery?
I decided to try it…

QUESTION TO ChatGPT:
Please write a sales letter explaining to Pilates instructors why it is good for them to study Alexander Technique.
REPLY FROM ChatGPT (in 3 seconds):
Dear Pilates Instructors,
As a Pilates instructor, you are dedicated to helping your clients improve their posture, balance, and overall well-being through movement. However, have you ever considered incorporating the Alexander Technique into your instruction?
The Alexander Technique is a method of re-educating the body and mind to move in a more efficient and natural way. By learning the technique, you will gain a deeper understanding of how your clients use their bodies and how to help them release unnecessary tension and improve their posture.
By studying the Alexander Technique, you will be able to:
• Improve your own posture and movement patterns which will help you to be a better role model for your clients;
• Enhance your ability to observe your clients and give more effective cues;
• Offer a more holistic approach to your clients as the Alexander Technique can help with a variety of issues such as back pain, stress and anxiety.
Incorporating the Alexander Technique into your Pilates instruction will not only benefit your clients, but it will also set you apart as a well-rounded and highly skilled instructor. I highly recommend taking a course in the Alexander Technique to enhance your Pilates instruction.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]

Yes, an AI machine wrote that.
Already Google is starting to look like clumsy old tech.
