Alexander Soap Part 6

Alexander was at the mirror

trying hard to stop pulling back his head

and feeling frustrated that he could not.

It was then that he made a major discovery

that explained why he could not do it…

to anyone who could do it…

Well, Alexander tried too -

he tried and tried and tried.

He could not stop his head going back!

And finally he saw the answer…

It was not just his head!

It was his whole body that moved.

When he pulled his head back,

he pushed his spine down:

he made his body shorter.

Alexander had been so fixed

on watching what his head did

that he had not noticed

what he was doing

with his whole body.

His head and body moved together.

He could not change his head movement

unless he changed his body movement too.

It was so obvious to him!

His head was crushing down on his body.

Every time he recited, he pushed down.

He had not seen it before, but now

he could see he curved his spine down.

He was cheerful again.

At last now he could make it work.

So he decided to put his head forward,

and make his spine straight

and then his voice would get better…

But his voice did not get better.

It stayed just as bad.

Why?

Haven't you also experienced this?

You try to sit up straight,

but your back still hurts.

You try to pull your shoulders

into a better position,

but you still get a sore back.

Alexander was having the same experience.

Then he realised a new, incredible thing.

Of course! that explains it all, he thought.
