Are You Still Learning What You Already Know?

A really interesting thing what happened last year in London.

As background – it was during the time we staged ATSuccess’ first foray into live workshops. The ATSuccess London Symposium essentially embodied our core message:

Package Alexander's discovery to a specific group of people.

Your “niche” as the marketing lore goes.

There were 7 different events on offer, and over 50 teachers got involved. Huge success. Now I start to introduce the interesting thing:

Most people booked for the “How to Teach…” workshop, NOT the “How to Attract…” workshop.

But that is NOT the interesting thing!

The interesting thing is that in the “How to Teach…” workshop, most people started asking about “How to Attract…”!

I thought: “But that’s next week’s workshop – why didn’t you sign up for that?”

Of course, I did what I was asked – it’s an important value in my teaching – and I’d wondered later, why is that so?

Because people like to do more of what they already know.

Alexander teachers know this: we teach people to go for the fresh, the new, the unexplored when what they are doing is not working for them.

That’s an important rider – don’t change what isn’t broken.

However, if what you are doing is NOT working, then go for the thing you don’t know.

That’s why I’d encourage you locals – if your practise is not as busy as you’d like it to be – to sign up for the “How to Market” workshop on Feb 11th, NOT the “How to Teach Groups” workshop. You already know how to teach – isn't it filling the workshops that is skill set that is new?

Go for the fresh, the new, the unexplored.

For those of you lucky enough to be in the UK, go for the "How to Market Groups” and be surprised by a workshop that is more about your state of mind than it is about marketing strategies.

People come when you attract them, and you need to be authentically doing something that interests them. It’s a real challenge, a lot of fun and deep exploration into the Use of the Self!
