Ask An Open Question - Meditation One

I can't always meditate daily.

But I always do something like it - I ask my Self to think deliberately. Not scattered thoughts, flowing every which way. Different from that.

Henry Ford commented:

"Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason why so few engage in it."

What is thinking?

To distinguish what I mean - and what I guess Henry Ford was referring to - I call it DeepThinking. I take a subject and systematically work through it.

DeepThinking creates an opening for your unconscious to talk to you.

Many teachers, scientists, philosophers and deep thinkers have pondered a greater collective unconscious that exists beyond the reach of our "knowing."

What is this collective?

The most convincing explanation I heard came from Brue Lipton, a hardcore PhD scientist who went off the rails in his wild and wacky "Biology of Belief" - a great read if you want your ideas challenged and your mind stretched. I imagine his ideas will pop up in Star Trek Discovery on Netflix eventually!

In his book, Lipton compares our ability to consciously "know" a thing to the vast number of things that we are "knowing" at any one moment in our unconscious. He shows a big white box on the page of his book. The entire box represents your unconscious. Then - hardly noticeably - is a tiny dot within the box.

That DOT - Lipton says - is all that you consciously know at any moment of time.

Not much is it?

And yet - this one little dot - gives you all you need to access everything else. It has a focusing function.

You ask an OPEN QUESTION. And ask it again. And again. Again. Here is an open question for you…
