Day Ten – Clearing

Sep 14, 2013

Success is guided by the right strategies, but it is powered by your structure as a person. You need to be the person who believes you can, yet sometimes you wake up overwhelmed and doubtful. A confident, self-loving person gets an amazing amount of work done in one day. You are that person, unless you are believing something about your Self that convinces you otherwise. I woke up this morning to an email resignation, some indignation, further demands and a sense of my own failure to put into action all I needed to do. In my heart was a sinking, empty feeling: I missed my kids, I missed being "free", I missed the joy I usually feel in living my life. I knew I needed a clearing session, because success relies on me as it's instrument. No success strategy will ever work if I am not the person who believes in my ability to enact them. Your first job as truly successful person, is to love your living, to want to be doing what you are doing, and believing you can. Whenever you do what you don't want to do: it is a sign. Pay attention to that – use your intelligence, emotional and otherwise, to untangle the knot. When you love everything you do, everything gets easy to do. To-day's Mission – Finding The Person You Know You Are

Telling your Self "I have to do all these things" when you are feeling "I can't" is a place we have all been. Then it seems you have only two choices: push on, or give up. Neither choice is appealing, yet it feels like no other solution is available. However you already have the wisdom you are seeking. You've already helped other people get out of this exact, same place. When a person comes to their first lesson with you, you have heard them say: "I try to sit up, then I get tired and collapse. I know that's not good, so I try to sit up again, but eventually my back gets sore. I don't know what to do." What do you tell students who say this to you? What solution do you describe to them? This is the exact same solution you need for you. You help them to stop pressing their head down into their spine – right? Initially, your student has no awareness they are doing this – that's their problem. So confronted by the same emotional situation, "I can't do all these things. I am overwhelmed" then what advice do you give you? Is it the same advice you also give your students? When I think like this, I realise that I am pushing down on my Self, and I am not aware I am doing it. Your third choice – which is neither "to push on" or "to give up" – is to clear the ground, to see what you are doing to you that is putting you into this emotional quandary. This was true of me this morning – I was pressing me down with thoughts like "I am not good enough" and "I have made a mess of my life" and "Others do it better than me". Insane I know, but true nonetheless. This stuff carries on for a long, long time. So you need to be clearing your Self constantly. This is the real engine of your success story. It is this unidentified subterranean dungeon of depressive thoughts that cripples our action and gives us a feeling of obstacles that simply don't exist. This is the head pushing down on the spine of our emotional life, and whenever you are in the space of feeling you have only two choices – to push on or give up – know that you know what is happening, and you possess the key to get out… It's time for your clearing session.
