The beautiful thing about running your own business, you can do what you like.

Of course, your customers can too - they can leave when they want.

Getting that right is a delicate balance.

How do you figure that out?

A match for you and a match for them. It starts out with passion - knowing what energizes and inspires YOU enough to keep at it day after day, month after month, year after year. That's number one.

Alexander's discovery does that for a lot of people. It an inspiring thing to watch a person change their whole being based on an insight into the power of their movement system. Who do you know that would love an experience like that?

Our work is like a little a back door into spiritual life. It sneaks up on them unsuspecting. As one nervous student asked me one day:

"I am not going to have to change my personality, am I?"

Inside I thought "Yes" and then to her I said:

"Not if you don't want to."

Which is true too.

Which means you need to know your students as well as you know your Self. How well do you understand the people you want to help? Try this…

Make a list of everyone - I mean EVERYONE - you have taught over, say, the last year. Ages, gender, work, interests, orientation, beliefs. Notice who they are, notice if there are any patterns there…

It's a great exercise to do, and one I recommend. When you join me in the 60Day Foundations course we do this and many other methods while exploring the right business model for you.
