Lucia Walker - Compassionate Communicator

Lucia Walker first introduced me to the work of Marshall Rosenberg (1934-2015). His work goes by the more familiar name: “Non-Violent Communication”, however, I prefer the alternate desciption: “Compassionate Communication”.

Of course it would be Lucia to first introduce me to his work – she is nothing if not one of the Alexander’s worlds’ most compassionate comunicators. Some teachers are brilliant, others intellectual, while others have rigour and dedication – but few have the same degree of compassion as Lucia.

Lucia is an Associate Director of BodyChance, and a regular teacher at our Golden Week residentials, starting from 2002 at our 4th event. And she bounced around every time - engaging with every kind of trainee and teacher. 

With Lucia, a conversation flows because of her lively, inquistive mind.

Lucia will approach another aspect of ZOOM communication – the ability to connect, to be present, despite the limitations of the medium. Her work illustrates that engagement comes from the human heart first, your mind follows that. This is a place to adventure into your concerns and hesitations, to find a homely environment online that encourages and supports you.

In her empathetic way, Lucia will be introducing you to ways you can translate your work as a “Mover” into games, exercises and activities that bring balance to sharing times. It is a well balanced show-and-tell session open to anyone with interest in Alexander's Discovery and compassionate online communication.
