My 30 Day Challenge - Do It!

I haven't started my 30 Day Challenge yet – that launces September 1st - but already 15 Alexander Technique teachers are signed up and busy sharing their ambitions in my exclusive FaceBook group for this "will do" month of action-taking. This is for both teachers and trainees, anyone who wants to start thinking creatively about getting a better practice. One of the big inhibitors (using the more universally accepted negative connotation of the word) of getting things done is the feeling it has to be "right" before you do anything. I particularly enjoyed reading comments from teachers in the FaceBook group who said things like "I have no time for this, but I am doing it anyway" or "I don't know what I want to do this month, but I am joining anyway." What are you telling your Self? I know I have a tendency for wanting to get things right, for perfectionism, for waiting for the right moment, and I know this does not serve me very well. When I do that, I paralyse my Self before having an opportunity to learn from mistakes. And I make lots of mistakes, sometimes very public messy ones. I don't care anymore, because I know that mistakes are the only way I learn. You could say Alexander's story is about a man who failed for 10 years to get what he wanted. A man who made mistake, after mistake, after mistake – THOUSANDS OF THEM – before arriving at a wonderful solution. Building your career, finding more students, increasing your income – it's like that. That's why jumping in without logical reasons can serve you well.
