“However, for the Journalist, it begged belief that so much could be accomplished by so little.”

Chancer’s Posture Daily | August 16th, 2019.

As a summer exercise, I decided to watch the top 25 TED talks of all time.

I’ve only watched two so far and – surprise! Surprise! – BOTH of them have a large component concerning our forgotten body. The second was from Amy Cuddy, who claimed that all the qualities in my subject headline could shine through from doing a simple 2-minute postural adjustment before a critical job interview.

All you need is a ‘power pose’ which – scientifically validated – can increase the hormones of testosterone  (think alpha male) levels by 20% and decrease cortisone (think stress) by 10%.

Yes, all in the space of 2 minutes.

The power pose. Even a blind person – who has never seen this pose – will instantly take its form when in a victory. Hands thrown up in the air, chin back, a big shout and a grin. So do snakes, peacocks and a muddle of other creatures. Before any critical challenge in your life, Amy recommends a quick dash to the loo for your 2-minute hype-up.

Remind you of anything?

Yes, Alexander’s discovery is another of those evolutionary postural thingamajigs that can accomplish transformational changes within a few minutes of implementation.

Of course, there’s a vast difference between Amy’s “fake it till you make it” plan and Alexander’s discovery. Amy has stumbled upon something apparent to Alexander folks for 125+ years and counting.

If Amy is still in kindergarten, then Alexander is a post-doctorate degree.

I was reminded of my interactions with students at BodyChance –  a transformation of behaviour is swiftly ushered in by a quick fix of head-spinal coordination. As I wrote yesterday, it completely befuddled the Journalist who had come to write about Alexander's discovery.

In tense performance situations, you can do adjust your sensorimotor system if you know how. Unfortunately, you can’t do Amy’s power pose. (Not if you want to be asked back.)

By utilizing Alexander’s discovery of sensorimotor calibration - you achieve much, much more. All those qualities in my subject line come through; your intelligence stays intact; and you can start enjoying stressful situations.

After all, people go to Disneyland, don’t they?

Stress is not inherently negative – it can be a lot of fun, IF you have the tools to manage it effectively.

Try your Amy power pose as a quick fix, it works. Do the interview.

When you’re ready to grow up and discover the next evolutionary step for homo-sapiens, call into BodyChance and watch how it works in action. Be your own judge of it: Paleo Posture in action. You can discuss next steps after you have witnessed a session. Details here:
