Pulling in Air from Nowhere
Dec 17, 2019"First, I have to pull the air in."
CHANCER: How do you do that?
A pause. A wonder. An answer:
"I get it from here" she points vaguely into the space in front of her.
Hmmm...

There are a lot of insane ideas out there, but nothing that beats the way some people talk about breathing.
Now breathing is a strange thing.
It's both controllable and uncontrollable. It's both conscious and unconscious. Try to stop breathing – ALLTOGETHER – and you get the gist of it.
What puzzles me the most is how simple it is.
Breathing is simple.
You might be thinking, well – that student above seems to have a reasonable idea. And you might be right until you saw what her idea was doing to her ability to breath. Which is why she had come to me in the first place.
She was pulling her whole Self over to where she thought the air was.
This pulling produced a downward pressure on her torso, which in turn restricted the amount of air she could consume.
This is an 'invisible' consequence of her idea to "pull the air in."
How many ideas like that have you got floating around in your brain?
It's hard to know - until you do a complete review of your functional anatomy. As you go through that review, you compare it with the ideas swelling around in your head. In this way, you can play detective and discover those ideas that are causing 'invisible' harm.
BodyThinking Online is designed to help you achieve that.
By going through every bone, muscle and movement you can make – you prise out your erroneous ideas. These are ideas that are limiting your ability to develop your teaching and performing skills.
You don't know where these ideas inhabit your thinking.
You don't even suspect them as being mistaken ideas.
You play detective to all the ideas you have that need updating. Ideas you innocently collected from well-meaning individuals who had no idea how human movement is designed. Even anatomists – for all their detailed knowledge – do not have a holistic approach of how it all fits together. Alexander's discovered this – and his concept of how head/spinal coordination influences everything else you do is central to BodyThinking Online.
Be warned that not everyone has the patience, honesty and kindness to themselves to embark on this journey. It will take time and effort. I can't imagine all people have got what it takes to undertake this comprehensive review.
But if you are someone not afraid to face the truth - and willing to put in the effort to find out - you will be rewarded with a profound and practical knowledge of your – and others – movement system.
There's a lot on offer this month – you can check that out at the link below - and purchase the whole deal if your ready – at this link:
