The Future of Alexander's Discovery in Japan 

The atmosphere in Japan is ripe for Alexander's discovery. 

A quick roundup from my previous Dailies: the Abe government has decided that Japanese business must carry some of the burden of health-related costs for their Japanese employees. A new "white list" of co-operative corporations has been drawn up by the government, with the hint of future benevolence for those that co-operate.  

Now over 200 large corporations have joined this white list - by fulfilling certain requirements, such as appointing a "Health Officer" and committing to health-related services for their employees. 

BodyChance is ideally situated to be a player in this huge emerging market.  

We have entrée by way of our 18 year track record, a credible business with a full-time staff of 9, success in the market and endorsements from influential institutions and individuals.  

Our new identity - Profitable Health Systems (PHS) - has been approved as a Start-up to enter a 4-year Government programme. We are being coached by executives currently working in senior executive positions within large Japanese corporations, as part of this Government initiative. 

Our intention is to enter the Corporate Training Sector of Japan as a Health Service Educator. Our business model is simple: we offer results, not services. We expect payment by way of contingent fees based on performance, not hours provided. 

This is proving to be an appealing model, although a challenge to evolve. 

Currently, two corporations are interested in our services. 

Looking back, it seems to me that BodyChance's history in Japan has been an 'in-training' for this important transition into a new business model. I'll wager that over the next decade, a break-through level of acceptance for our work is going to occur in this large industrial nation of Japan.  

It can only be good for Alexander's discovery, and I am thrilled to be in the position I am in today. I have another career ahead of me, the most exciting yet. 

Universities are also feeling the pressure from the Abe Government to focus their research efforts towards the health sector. 

We have met with scientists at a large Japanese university - they want to know more about our educational services, and seem willing to enter into discussions with us on how they might become involved.  

With our first corporation, we were told that staff were hard to motivate. They wanted them to pay attention to their health - but didn't know how to do that.  

Could we help with that? 

Inwardly I laughed, as the primary reason for BodyChance's success in Japan has been through discovering ways to market Alexander's discovery, and capture wide interest. 

Pulling together a school of 136 trainees was no small feat, and the skill sets we developed in the process of accomplishing that will serve us well as we pivot into becoming a provider of corporate health education services. 

It's not an impossible dream, and to succeed you need to develop all kinds of skills.
