They Have Lights on their Head
Oct 19, 2017My run was at 5 am this morning.
At this hour in Japan, it is dark. And that is when I saw them…
Swinging and bobbing lights in the distance, like a mysterious UFO in the dark.
As I approached, I discovered it was old Japanese men and woman. With lights on their head.
Mind you, not all of them. Some were holding lanterns. And wearing raincoats, but there was no rain. But there might be this morning, you just never know…

It's time for the morning walk - who cares if it is dark. I'll wear a light on my head. And a raincoat, why not?

Perhaps I am wrong about this, but I can't imagine ANY OTHER PLACE where this could happen. Readers - please enlighten me!
Marj once uttered the strangest remark at one of her Barstow Summer Workshops:
"I'm so practical, I shouldn't be living."
Those Japanese reminded me of Marj's declaration. How practically can you live? What does that even mean?
Leave the ego at the door. Live the life you want to live, not the life that fits in with everyone else. It takes courage to live truthfully, and the principal object of that courage is towards your Self.
When I am depressed - am I willing to look at it? Will I turn off the TV, sit down with my Self and a pen, and question what I am believing about my life?
In MSI Alexander said there were three obstacles to change:
1. Laziness
2. Beliefs
3. Fear
There are three antidotes to those, and if you apply them, you can miraculously find your way out of your labyrinths. Simple, and not easy.
