Two Kinds of Perfect
Jul 26, 2017Have you ever started making silly noises and talking in a funny voice to another person?
Don't think so?
Well - remember the last time you saw a baby?
That's right. Many of us love to fuss over little babies. (And our lovers for that matter - interesting.) No matter how hard you might be feeling, babies have a happy knack of softening your heart and getting you to make a mild fool of your Self.
Research shows that babies need to hear your funny "baby talk". Through this they develop their listening, language and communication skills. As they grow, toddlers also watch how you move.
However, the truth is - we need to watch how they move!
There is something about the movement of a child who is just learning to walk that we love. You watch that first step - watch the child's grace and balance, their curiosity and willingness to fail; and they just keep on trying.
There is such beauty in that movement.
You could be looking at your self.
Do you believe you still have these things?
There are two kinds of answers you could make to this question.
1. I MUST FIX MYSELF (something is broken)
You might think:
"Oh, I am not made very well. I have this problem, and that problem. I really need to fix myself."
Nature/Life made a mistake, messed you up - now you must work hard to fix it. You want to find the correct way, and keep making yourself do the correct way.
Are you this kind of person?
2. I MUST FIND MYSELF (nothing is broken)
In this way, you might think:
"I am like the little child, I have a perfect design, but I have made myself do unnecessary things. It is these unnecessary things that are harming me. I must find myself again."
This is another way to think. Nature did not make a mistake, and Nature gave you the means to find that perfection.
As teachers of Alexander's discovery we follow the second way.
Your movement design is one of Nature's greatest achievements have the skill set to fully appreciate that design?
I have created a BodyThinking Online course that digs into this perfect design.
"A really accessible course in bite-sized modules which leads you smoothly through an understanding of the body through movement."
