Vacuuming Away Reluctance

About two months ago, I came home and could hear vacuuming coming from my daughter's bedroom.

WHAT?!

She never - like NEVER - vacuums. And then I remembered…

She was studying for her final year exams. Of course.

Don't you know that feeling?

You'll do just about ANYTHING to avoid the thing you have to do? For Alexscovery teachers, that thing is often: "marketing and selling."

Most teachers hate promoting themselves. It doesn't connect to why they teach - or at least that is how it feels.

However - if you love the work - get over it.

THERE ISN'T ANY OTHER WAY TO MAKE YOUR PRACTICE WORK.

And you know that is true. So how, how, how can you motivate your Self to quit the wretched vacuuming, and start the real work?

The answer is as obvious as it is simple.

And again, my daughter had the answer.

Next time I arrived home, and there was no vacuuming. Instead, a casual friend was sitting on the floor opposite her at our coffee table. They had their books open, and both studied silently.

Thatta way girl!!!
