What Made Life So Much Easier, Was Really Hard At First

I assumed the identity of a biz guy when I was 43.

That was not easy. My idea of a "biz person" was not pretty, and yet here I was recognizing that I needed to become one!

Weren't they the guys saying "Greed is Good"?

You know my story, I've told it many times. My Japanese school was crashing, and I had two toddlers and a wife looking after them at home. And no savings. Nada. Nothing.

I was in big, big trouble.

I consciously decided - I need to understand business. I need to know how to run a business. I finally realized I wasn't running a school - I was running a business!

Oh sure, there's the vision thing. Important. Want to help people. Want to make a difference. Noble, right, worthwhile.

And worth zip if you can't find any students.

Yelling to the world from an empty chair how good you are don't cut it. If you want to change the world, start by trying to understanding how it works.

Gurdjieff once declared that you could gauge your spiritual understanding of the world by your success in supporting others. He even put a number on it – 12 people.

Can you create something that supports 12 people?

They will need money. The world works around money.

Money is symbolic of our inherent selfishness. It's in our DNA to survive, and it's actually translated into an Alexander principle.

How well I can help you depends on how well I can help me.

There is a way to make life easier. But I won't kid you - it's really hard at first. Only for grown-ups.
