Who Do You Chase?
Mar 11, 2018I promised yesterday to pinpoint the strategy that will yield you the most results when attempting to find work with businesses.
Here's what you don't do - approach HR.
The return on your effort will be poor. Besides, as we have seen, these departments are budget-constrained and have an agenda that will not always flow with what you want to do.
Instead, find the decision maker.
Who is that?
It could be the owner of a hairdressing salon, as one of my recent members of ATSuccess discovered. It would be an enthusiastic employee working in a rich tech company - as another found.
In case one - the biz owner decides.
In case two - the employee navigates you through the politics.
You need an advocate, and you need to know how to utilise them.
Do you have any advocates?
I bet you do, and you don't even know it - as another of my ATSuccess members discovered when she started thinking getting work with businesses.
Maybe it's like finding a needle in a haystack; maybe it is easier than that.
It all depends on WHO you are looking for.
And WHY you are looking.
And WHAT you are going to say to that person.
And WHEN do you pitch?
And HOW to handle the pitch once you have made your pitch?
This takes skill, consideration and support. It's a journey, and being coached on your way through is the support on offer at ATSuccess.
It starts with my workshop in London and will carry one into an Online Course.
London first for those who can.
