Why Do You Need Alexander's Discovery?

And yet – to lose your smartphone now - would cause a lot of grief.
I say this because Alexander's Discovery is the same category.
What category is that?
Alexander's Discovery is something you did not know you needed until you got it – and once you got it, you wonder how you ever managed without it?
Just like a smartphone.
Well, we all know the benefits a smartphone brings – but it also brings a few troubles, and Alexander's Discovery is the same. The most significant trouble Alexander's Discovery will bring is that you can never go back to being ignorant again.
Because you know there is a better way to do what you are doing. You discover an approach that leads to you being freer, healthier, more satisfied and in control of your life.
Yes, all of those things.
Once you experience this – it will haunt you forever. So be careful starting Alexander's Discovery – there is no turning back.
It's almost like a prison sentence.
One of the clearest examples of how this works is in a back-bending exercise.

We clarified her movement plan!
This means clarifying her thinking about what she is doing. The first part of clarifying any movement plan is to include head/spinal coordination in the plan – this is Alexander's simple Discovery.
Shoko had forgotten about the head/spine relationship and was focusing on other parts of her movement first. As you can see in the video – once her head/spine was included in her movement plan, the pain in her lower back vanished.
Just vanished. Like it never even existed.
