Why You Write.
May 12, 2017You write to engage.
You write to your audience; to the people who might become your students.
You write so they can understand how they can benefit.
THEN they want to know who you are, what you do and how that helps them.
Alexander's discovery remains a mystery to many people, even after studying it.
It can be easily explained, yet comparing that explanation to your proposed results – the two seem out of all proportion with each other!
Student thinks:
Are you saying I get all that just by changing my head/spinal relationship? Really?!! It seems far-fetched...
And people don't buy when they are confused.
Your job is to communicate clarity to blow away the fog of their confusion.
Your Alexander approach is flips around other methods they have studied.
It emphasizes thinking over doing, prevention over actions, and real-time analysis over templated exercises.
You can’t get that across in one website, or in one flyer. You can’t get that across at a dinner party or a conservation at an event, or even in one lesson. It takes time. It involves building a relationship.
So to evolve that relationship - and their understanding of the work - you write.
Like two pen pals separated by a gulf, you are walking towards each other over time.
Alexander is industrial. It takes time, resources, investment.
At BodyChance in Japan, we have many students – now in ProCourse training to be teachers – who were on our mailing list for 1 to 2 years before deciding to come to one of our studios.
As they read the emails, they felt attracted to something, without being able to place their finger upon it. This is how it works. People come on a hunch, on an intuition. You build on that by being consistent, by talking about what has meaning for both of you.
You don't need to study at ATSuccess to start that.
You just start writing. Every day. Get clearer and clearer.
And they will come. And if you want my help...
