Every day, you just never know.

Years ago, a dear friend announced to all of us at dinner:

We were all astonished at his unsolicited declaration. Urrr…

WHY?

“I want to be an actor,” he went on, “and actors are usually poor. I don’t want another job, so if being poor is the only way I can stay an actor, then I will be poor!”

Which was met with a sullen silence, since most of us were actors too.
