Zest is Best - Get on the Right Side of Wrong
Mar 19, 2018Yesterday's message - on building a front end and back end in your Alexander practice - hit a chord with many people. John in the US kindly wrote:
"great message and explanation of a business principle thanks"
Sonja added:
"that's a fabulous letter and invite, Jeremy! Anyone can feel and sense the zest behind the words."
And a third even booked in for the content of my workshop tomorrow in London.

So let's talk about this more.
You may have a "back-end" to your practice without knowing it.
One teacher in San Diego - who has been following me for years - told me that 80% of her students were long-term.
That's a back-end.
Loyal students who keep coming for lessons are a breed all of their own. Of course to gather students like that you need to be in the same geographic location for a long time. It's the standard model of an old world Alexander practice.
It worked for years, and evidence is mounting that it isn't working anymore.
Yet graduating teachers only have this model to follow: set up a teaching room, let people know you are there teaching "Alexander Technique" - hope the STAT list will get you referrals - tell your friends and acquaintances - and, and, and, - then what?
If you have prepared for this moment, it can be scary.
What do you do? How do you proceed?
For both a new teacher - and a teacher whose practice is falling off - it's certainly a relevant question to ask. It's the question I will be exploring tomorrow in London
My current idea is simple: looking for business clients can be a smarter use of your energy. Sure, you keep on seeking individual students, AND, add another string to your bow.
A business client - on just one contract - can give you access to many individual students.
Decide to join us tomorrow.
You will be glad you did.
