Phantom Friends on the Fake
Sep 15, 2019Someone I knew well started texting me this morning.
“Oh wow,” I thought, “A voice from the past!”
I started happily chatting back. Then…
“Did you get your mega bonus?”
Wait. Mega bonus?
This is not my friend.
Identity theft is becoming commonplace. In another group recently, someone accused me of being a fake account.
How do you prove you are not a fake?
And of course, dear old FM – originator of Alexander’s Discovery – knew all this was coming. He devoted a large section of his 3rd book sounding the alarm on the increasing rate of change in human affairs…
The book was published in 1923!
Back then, Alexander proposed a novel a solution – it’s not what you expect - but before I talk about that, let me take a moment to consider what the problem is…
Today our schools are wasting their time giving kids information.
Who needs information when you’ve got Wikipedia, Ted Talks and YouTube at the tip of your finger 24/7? It’s not information kids need anymore – that’s so 20th Century - it’s the ability to wade through the chaff and find out the fakes.
For example – how would a child research ‘Climate Change’?
This is one of the most complex public policy problems in the history of the human species - so how are we training our descendants how to make up their minds about this?
What we have is a generation of people staring down at smartphones as they stumble about like zombies – effectively transfixed by mega-corporations intent on selling their attention to profit-motivated merchants.
What we have done for our children is turned them into Products.
But say ‘the Product’ does wake up. This is what the child will discover…
The President of the United States twitting that global warming is fake news invented by the Chinese to hurt the USA; on the other side scientists saying it’s already too late - vast tracks of our planet will become inhabitable within a few decades.
Who do they believe?
And that brings up a more profound question – how do we believe?
Because if you are a regular reader of Chancer, you know what I keep repeating, again and again, is how easily your brain can hoodwink you. To survive, our children need to learn how easily the brain lies, and why. This is what FM told us back in 1923:
“All the darned fools in the world believe they are actually doing what they think they are doing.”
How well trained are you to question what you believe you are doing?
When you study Alexander’s Discovery, you will meet these phenomena in your Self at every lesson. It’s not intellectual, it experiential. It’s about how an arm moves or defining what a head is. Simple things, but vital for healthier living.
You are developing an ability to adapt, based on a better understanding of your Self. This ability to adapt is the skill that matters most as our world marches into unchartered territory.
In BodyThinking Online, you start with the simplest of things – how you move. Because moving is the core of who you are; studying how you move puts you back in touch with 550,000,000 million years of evolution.
To go far forward, you must go far back.
And it starts very simply, and it can carry on all your life.
There are three modules: head/axis + head/axis arms + head/axis legs.
Make no mistake – this is not an anatomy course; this is a conversation about delusion. About belief run amok and getting clear on the reality of you. It’s essential knowledge for any human being, and vital for an Alexscovery teacher.
When you purchase this month, you get a free coaching session and access to additional material.
No discounts anymore - you get high-quality information from Chancer. I’ve been thinking about this for 50 years. No kidding – my first lesson was in 1968.
